Positive Dog Training

Feel confident in the training you receive at Beachy Dogs. We provide certified positive dog training using the Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive (LIMA) approach.

The dog training industry is largely unregulated, which makes it especially important to understand a trainer’s methods and philosophy. At Beachy Dogs, we are committed to humane, science-based practices—we never use or recommend pinch, prong, choke, or electronic collars of any kind.

Instead, we focus on positive reinforcement, consistency, and patience to help you teach your dog reliable behaviors and good manners. Training not only strengthens your dog’s mind and self-control, but also helps them successfully navigate life in our human world.

Best of all, training together builds a deeper bond between you and your dog—creating a stronger, happier relationship with your canine companion.

Upcoming Classes!

The required vaccinations to attend dog training are:

Bordetella, Canine Influenza, DHPP, and Rabies.

For all classes and private sessions, we do not allow retractable leashes since they pose an injury risk to dogs and people. Absolutely no pinch/choke, prong, or shock collars.

AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy

Designed for puppies 6 months and younger, this class supports early socialization, proper care, and foundational obedience. We’ll guide you through essential skills like focus, sit, down, stand, stay, drop-it, leave-it, early recall, and polite leash walking.

You’ll also prepare for the S.T.A.R. Puppy evaluation, which highlights your commitment as a pet parent—covering vaccinations, ID tags or microchipping, grooming, veterinary care, and your puppy’s early training progress. Each class is tailored to address your puppy’s unique needs and challenges.

AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC)

Take your dog’s training to the next level! This class prepares you and your dog for the CGC evaluation while strengthening real-world obedience skills. We’ll build on cues such as focus, sit, down, heel, stay, recall, leave-it, drop-it, touch, place, and release.

The CGC evaluation assesses your dog’s ability to demonstrate polite manners, including accepting grooming, staying calm during supervised separation, sitting politely for petting, and responding appropriately to people and other dogs. As always, sessions are customized to support your individual training goals.

Whether you’re starting with a new puppy or advancing your dog’s skills, we’re here to help every step of the way!
